The patented Schertler® electrostatic bridge pickup stands out for its high feed back isolation and for providing a very impressive "bridge sound", without the hardness or distortion of a piezo pickup. The pickup set, comprised of cable, pickup and pre-amp, is designed for four specific string instrument applications: "STAT-V" for violin / viola, "STAT"-C" for cello and "STAT-B" for double bass. Each set is tailored taking into consideration the individual characteristics of each instrument and is suited for numerous playing styles.
Performance provides a full and realistic bass sound, while the high notes are finely portrayed, never harsh or shrill. These pickups are ideally suited for rock, fusion and jazz, where loud amplifier levels must not present a handicap.
NOTE: the STAT-B microphone requires DC power to operate, provided by the STAT-PRE or PRE-AII preamps.
Offering the mic alone assumes it is for replacement or that one of the two Schertler pre-amps is being used.
Both the Schertler UNICO and DAVID Amplifier systems can also be used.
APPLICATION
Mounting the transducer is easily done, as it can be fitted and removed in seconds. The heart of the transducer capsule is made of cork, which can be formed with simple sanding paper to fit the cutaways in the bridge of the instrument. The signal is transmitted by means of an RCA connector(bass/cello), or a specially designed ultralight carbon connector(violin/viola), which is secured to the tailpiece with a special clip.
The pickup and signal amplification are powered by a Schertler® "STAT-PRE" preamp supplied with the set, which also includes the connecting cable. For perfect sound reproduction using the Schertler® electrostatic bridge pickup, Schertler® also offers a series of active acoustic instrument loudspeakers of the best possible quality.
