| The Clarus(400W) and Focus(800W) Series III amp heads are newly designed, compact and more powerful integrated amplifiers for
acoustic and electric instruments. Acoustic Image amplifiers provide transparent, powerful and accurate sound reproduction across
the full frequency spectrum so that your sound really comes through. There are four models at present, with one satellite power amp:
o Single channel input amp head, Clarus 1 (no on board effects, 400 W @ 4 ohms) o Single Channel input high powered amp head, Focus 1 (no on board effects, 800 W @ 4 ohms o Dual channel input amp head with on board effects, Clarus 2r (400W @ 4 ohms) o Dual channel input high powered amp head with on board effects, Focus 2R (800W @ 4 ohms) The new Clarus and Focus Amps continue in the tradition of AI, being designed to accurately reproduce the sound of all acoustic and electric instruments, without compromise, in small, lightweight, compact packages. Each amp includes 3 Band EQ, XLR mic and 1/4" instrument combination input jacks, a parallel effects loop with return volume control, balanced direct outputs with ground lift and pre/post EQ to allow connection to stage sound systems and a notch or low cut filter(selectable) to eliminate feedback or "boominess". All AI amps and combos operate on 115V/60Hz or 230V/50Hz. (Japan version operates on 100V 50/60Z only) (see specifications for full details). Unlike solid state amplifiers, the AI Clarus and Focus amps deliver a distictly warm, tube like sound which is flat across the frequency spectrum and not voiced to favor any particular frequencies. The result when using a high quality (passive) speaker like the Contra EX is that you hear just the sound of your instrument. The Focus amps are designed to meet the needs of players who require extra high volume or exceptional headroom in a very portable package. The Focus Amp heads deliver 800 Watts of clean power from a compact 5 lb package, without compromising the characteristically open and natural Acoustic Image sound. Never before has so much power, flexibility and sonic performance been packed into such a compact and portable amplifier system. When combined with a high quality speaker system, Acoustic Image amplifiers facilitate the ultimate in sound reproduction-- we call it "musical amplification." All this in a package that is so small and lightweight that it is dwarfed by other amplifiers of comparable features and output.
