Lakota Leathers can custom make any kind of guitar, banjo, mandolin, or any other musical instrument strap.
These straps are custom orders and designs. While most of these feature Native American patterns,
almost anything you desire can be achieved. All the beadwork can be custom designed to incorporate
anything from your fretboard inlay pattern to your name, and almost anything in between. The limit
is literally your imagination. For Example, check out the strap that was custom designed for country
music legend John Anderson(noted below). His strap sports eagle conchos, Elk hide construction and his initials
in both conchos and beadwork. These straps require about a month to make and generally need to be
pre-ordered. Upon occasion there may be a custom strap in stock, so feel free to ask. Prices for
custom straps start at just $250.
Please note that currently the custom straps are made off the Pine Ridge reservation in Arizona.
While they are Native American made, the artist is not a registered member of the Lakota Sioux tribe.
He is working very closely with the Lakota artisans to help the people of Pine Ridge become skilled
enough to do this type of work.
